We naturally seek what is certain. This is why we tend to avoid change and become uncomfortable when the outcome is uncertain.
I remember being a senior in high school with a deep sense of uncertainty. What was I doing with my life? where was I going? What was I called to do? These thoughts plagued my mind as my graduation date grew closer and my plan was still yet to be found.
In the middle of all my fear, at the peak of my uncertainty, Jesus met me. He comforted me, declared identity, shared His vision, and a bit of my role in it. As I met Jesus, the fear of uncertainty began to fade. I still didn’t know exactly what the future held, but I gained the vision of Jesus and his kingdom. I was reminded that I was created to love God and love people. I was empowered to bring His kingdom into broken places. I met his heart for the lost and hurting, and I received the joy of pursuing Him.
Something happens when we encounter the vision of Jesus. When we meet his purposes plan and victory, everything changes, even if nothing changes. Though the world may be uncertain, we serve a king who is certain. In the midst of an uncertain pandemic, Jesus has a vision of healing and restoration for the future. As society grows more divided, Jesus has a vision of unity and grace for the future.
At the Garland Dream Center, we choose to press into the vision of Jesus. We recognize that this year has been hard, and in the midst of uncertainty, we choose to celebrate what God has done what he will continue to do well into the future.
We are excited to celebrate God’s vision for the Garland Dream Center at our Safari GALA on November 6th. We hope you’ll join us by clicking the link below to register!
